Hi,
Are you sitting comfortably? then I will begin. A friend, FJ 900 and his brother asked if I and any other friends would like to go to the Dutch GP June 09. Yes Mike and I would love to go.
Now my FJ friend and his brother, SV650 are not going but we still are.
It is not going to be cheep! ferry is over £300 and tickets for two days is over £100 but we are going to try and squeeze in a visit to the Nurburgring.
I will be on my XS850 Mike on Blackbird. Sailing from Newcastle probably Thursday 25th June.
Anybody out there going? or fancy coming?

Hi Shaddowman,
We did look at the various crossing points and the cost from each. Newcastle is not the cheepest but with the requirement for a sleep at some time on route to Assen whatever ferry crossing we chose we went for Newcastle which is 310 miles from start and the additional cost to the further south ferries weighed in favour of Newcastle.
If you can advise on good camping near the circuit we would be very greatfull. We have been told that some home owners near the circuit will allow camping in their gardens, have you any knowledge of this?
Many thanks for your interest in our venture.

During the dutch TT there are lots temporary campground by home owners
I dont know what prices they take for the places
A little advice is that you Dont leave anything that is from any value lying arround in your tent and be sure you'll have a good lock on your bike
unfortunatly there are still people who try to steal bikes or possesions during the time you are on de circuit watching the races
second tip don't go speeding in holland
in the weekend during the TT are there A lot of police contols near Assen
and on the main routes trougout the whole country
the top speed in holland is 120 km/h on the highway = 75 mph
and on other roads 80 km/h = 50 mph unless signs say different
speeding fines for foreigners are to payed immediatly
and when you are doing over 50 km/h to fast they WILL TAKE your drivers licens no matter where you come from
